What Happens Before Your First Session?

Prior to your intake, you will receive a patient portal link through SessionsHealth which gives access to my practice's forms.  These forms should take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete.
Please complete these forms before your scheduled intake session.

What Happens During Your First Session?

Typically, the initial session involves becoming familiar with the concept and expectations for therapy.  My clinical and professional background will be summarized, and basic information questions will be asked to begin formulating a treatment plan and diagnosis.

It's also important to know that you, the client, can ask me questions about my clinical background to make sure I'd be the appropriate provider to help guide you through treatment.

My Clinical Approaches

My practice is dedicated to the psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being of my clients.  Treatment is tailored to the needs of the client.  Culture, religious/spiritual beliefs, and family structure are taken into consideration.
-
I have worked with clients who have Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Paganism,
Witchcraft (including Brujeria and Stregheria), Wicca, Voodoo, Conjure, Animism, Satanism, Goddess worship, and magickal practices (including Crystals, Tarot and Oracle, Chaos Magick and Baneful Magick).
-
Evidence- based treatments including
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) (please note that I am not a DBT Therapist), Unified Protocol and Expressive Arts Therapy, are utilized to help instigate change and transformation.  Psychodynamic Therapy and Jungian therapy can also be applied as well.
-
A decolonized lens to understand historical and systemic challenges within healthcare and society is also used should you, the client, be open to this approach.  I am currently enrolled in the inaugural Decolonizing Therapy Foundations Training Fellowship Series hosted by Dr. Jennifer Mullan, author of Decolonizing Therapy.
